I'm so deep in the gaming closet I'd need a scroll of greater teleport to find my way out.
So is this "gaming closet" an extra-dimensional space or a non-dimensional space?
And how does it react to a portable hole? :uhoh:

I feel your pain. It does make me wonder what the ratio of strongly closeted-to-noncloseted gamers is. Also, I wonder what different reasons are behind the closeting....

The reason?!? I think its mostly to keep you as much in control of your life as possible. Sure you might say that something as relatively inconsequential as a hobby shouldn't have to be hidden, BUT I know for a fact that a lot of people really consider gaming to be an utter character flaw.

Usually it comes from people who are really into mainstream things like just watching sports or talking about only the most popular music.

I got stigmatized in high school just for liking Nine Inch Nails or Tool. I was pretty preppy otherwise, but I continually had people act like I was the devil's henchmen because I liked one particular band.

Its sort of like announcing your political views -- not everyone can act mature about other people being different. That's why some people don't like to talk about politics or religion.

If the topic involves tabletop games or something similar, it might come up.

I don't really go out of my way to broadcast it. I don't really see the need to, in all honesty.

I've been slowly converting a group of students into role players through things like Catan and soon Dread.

Then, I SHALL INTRODUCE BLACKLEAF!!!!

Whilst it's not immediately obvious, and rarely on show, I have a Free League emblem from the Planescape setting on one arm, and a Sigil of Torment on the other. (In fact, I'm the first google image result for "planescape torment tattoo")

Advertising I am a gamer isn't really neccessary for me. I talk it up constantly (often defending the hobby).

I am currently working on a design for my hobby room window for DnD and comics.
