You could always rig things so that the PCs have to capture and transport a wizard somewhere. See what techniques they use to keep the wizard from spellcasting. Then those techniques can become the standard techniques for capturing spellcasters in your game.

Sounds like the problem is that there's a feat that radically changes the assumptions of how the world works. My solution would probably be to ban that feat.Silent Dimension Door - no components! Or just Silent Charm Person one of the guards, and get them to tell you the whole setup. Then plan an escape.

FR has a non-magical herb called spellbane which inhibits spellcasting: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Spellbane
