Where does that word comes from?

I'd say I'd pronounce it "Tser" but that wouldn't be very helpful. Most people speaking English as their mothertongue have trouble pronouncing words that start with a hard consounant followed by a soft one (e.g., knowledge is "nowledge" and psychology is "sychology", the hard consounant getting simply removed from speech). So you can probably get away with saying "ser".

I've been pronouncing the first two letters just as the first two in tsunami. Sejs has it about right, I think.

Try "Tser" or "Tsaer" from the word tsunami [tsoo-nah-mee], or "Ser" or "Saer", if you are using a common mispronunciation of tsunami as the base word to support that, or finally "Teer" or "Taer", using the first syllable of one of the common pronunciation of the word tsetse. [tset-see, tet-, tsee-tsee, tee-]

My personal choice would probably be "Tsaer".

Then later we killed Strahd for his insolence.

Hold the tip of your tonuge against the front of your hard palate like you're going to START to say T, but then say S instead. t-seer.

It must be, since so many gamers insist "mee-lee" is a word used in D&D, and it sure ain't melee, so this must be it.
