How do you RP a Wis: 74 and Cha: 60?

What you need are some reference points by which to guide you.


Be Mr. Miyagi (from the Karate Kid!) + (George Clooney * Bill Clinton). Perhaps add in a dash of that guy who sells the Mogwai at the beginning of the movie Grimlins for flavor.

Just remember that you are wise - not smart. Don't be Doc Brown from Back to The Future. Do some searches for Zen quotes, and use them. Especially the ones no one understands. Be obtuse for no reason. Questions that simply need a short answer will recieve an extremely verbose answer from you. Questions that require great length in answer get a simple word or two. Who's gonna question you? Your wisdom is so far beyond them, that they can't begin to understand the plane upon which you function.

Example: "So, why does the magic in the world still exist? Wouldn't it all be used up one day? Why does magic work at all?" You reply with a simple nod, "That which is, is. That which is not, cannot be. Unless it is."

The key is to make things logical, without being actually understandable. Things like "This statement is false". How can it be false? If it IS, then it's actually NOT... Those are the things a WIS 74 person would understand.

As for the CHA, just remember that it's not just an "attractiveness" score - it's the force of your personality. All great leaders have a high CHA, even the ugly ones. No one followed Castro because his beard set a fashion statement. Be a leader!

Aid another gives a +2 bonus, and succeeds about 3/4 the time for a competent professional (+4 skill bonus). Thus, your character can make decisions about as well as a brilliant leader (WIS 22) with a staff of 35 professional assistants.

Last season of "Angel" had the goddess Jasmine show up. She was calm, serene, beautiful, soft-spoken and anyone who looked at her or listened to her voice experienced such fulfilment that they HAD to follow her, lest their lives become meaningless.

Of course, there's more to her than that, but that's Spoiler-centric that has nothing to do with the topic... ;)
 

Thanks for the input, you have given me a lot to consider. :)

As a 21st level character he can only cast 2 epic spells per day, wisdom and charisma seemed better choices to boost than intelligence. His Int is an ordinary human 16, but maybe I'll bump it up tomorrow. (Epic level spells can do nearly anything as long as you have enough first level cultists helping in your ritual casting. DC 0 spells can be invented and cast for free. :D)
The Gods are probably coming for the character one way or the other, because he's been strongly anti-theist troughout his career and, up until now, he's been trying to damage them as much as possible without drawing a lethal amount of attention to himself. It's hard not to notice a 60-charisma character, though. A trancendant wisdom might justify continuing his campaign, even though by our mortal standards it seems a foolishly dangerous thing to do. Maybe I can play up the insanity aspect a little, or simply pretend that his wisdon is so great that it appears like insanity to others. Maybe divine diplomacy is the way to go.
Party dynamics will be interesting, and I hope his mental buffness won't aggravate the others too much. They are a group of fine role-players, so it will probably work as long as I can get my part to work. Hmm, as I said; A lot to consider. And thanks :)
 


Do you have an accent? Because people with high Charisma have to have accents, and you could probably have, like, six at once.

Remember that you've got a +25 Bluff check, at least.
 

Run for god and president similtaneously?

Be able to prove you actually exist?

Sell a lot of bridges?

Given that my players are happy to stay within the 3-18 scale, with minor tweaks due to magic (highest score we have ever dealt with, including magical tweaks, was 22, and we all thought that excessive), I have no clue what to do with these scores. They are, for all intents and purposes, pointless.

Expositionally. There's no sense calling it "roleplaying" any longer because you will be writing a story. No one who comes in contact with you has freewill. You now get to report on your actions and on how others respond to your actions since absolutely everyone will do exactly what you say, exactly how you say it, mean it, and wish it. I'd like to suggest your first book title as Justifiable Narcissism :)
 

Ah. The usual ELH epic spell abuse. I've made a "1/4 rule" almost as soon as I read the book. Mitigating factors should, at most, reduce a spell's DC to 1/4 its maximum DC. Attaining caster level 21 shouldn't be an instant ticket to godhood, Leadership or no Leadership.

I mean, I'm sure this sort of thing would have occurred to nearly every epic-level adversary the PC would have (think of the githyanki witch-queen... she has a whole friggin RACE of followers)! Surely that uber-NPC would have the Wisdom to know the PC was a threat at level 16 or so, and the Charisma to send armies of high level foes after the PC at that time. Surely someone who has these sort of ability scores would have figured out a scheme to take over the world that actually works!
 

I think the most interesting role-playing aspect isn't so much that the PC has a Wis 74 and Cha 60, but that it happened so quickly.

As an analogy, consider someone who has been blind their entire life suddenly gaining sight. When cataract surgery was invented, this happened to quite a few people and if I recall, it was pretty unanimously decided to be a bad idea. People couldn't handle it very well. A great many started just walking around with their eyes closed, and unfortunately a great many also committed suicide. It was too great of a change too quickly.

Having Wis and Cha jumping so quickly would be extremely difficult to handle. The PC now realizes truths he couldn't fathom before, and he not accept them. The line between *knowing* the truth, and *accepting* the truth can be fascinating area for role-playing. Also, with that sort of charisma would come near infinite confidence which can be deadly. Also, being able to talk most anyone into anything can bring along a great deal of temptation.

Oh, and don't forget, that sort of spellcasting can draw attention, so be careful. An enemy might realize the best way to knock you down a few notches is to start wiping out your followers. That'll kill your leadership score real fast. At the very least be ready for gods and other epic spellcasters (with their own collection of followers if need be) to come along and put you in your place. ;)
