How does Rapid Shot apply to Shurikens?

You can throw any weapon that isn't too big to wield. However, if it does not have a range increment (and is thus an improvised weapon when thrown), or you are not proficent with it, you get a -4 to your attack roll (plus applicable range penalties). Yes, I've had a flying critter in my game critted by a thrown greatsword (that -4 hardly matters if you roll a 20). Ouch!

3.5e finally makes sense of shuriken - it is a 1d2 weapon, which can be drawn as a free action and enchanted as ammunition. You get to apply STR bonus and it can be used as a monk weapon with their flurry of attacks.

An ordinary Joe could rapid shot it as normal.

In 3e they are a devastating poison delivery weapon, but useless for causing damage (unless a rogue, in which case you might as well throw them one at a time anyway)

Cheers

They're also deadly with energy enhancments, and marrowcrushing. 1 con damage for each shuriken! But it seems you can't do that anymore(at least not more effectively tthan anything else), cuz you only throw 1 shuriken instead of 3.
