It's still ongoing. Where's the poll box for that?

There isn't one, as I'm specifically interested in campaigns that have ended, not camapigns that are still ongoing.

WLD is a challenge to DM. It can get tedious and bore players. The only way I got through it was I removed the assumption that almost everything in there was to be killed. It opened a lot of role playing and politics in the place. Basically my player went around and united the many different factions and had them swear alliegence to the celestrials. Then with them united she lead them against the remaining devils and demons and other truely evil things. And from reading the epic dungeon, that was not what the writers were expecting. :D

Actually, from my reading, I think that is exactly what the writers were expecting... in some cases. The WLD is a potpurri. The DM can do whatever he or she likes with it, tailoring it to the player's tastes. You might have a group that enjoys bashing down doors one at a time and killing the denizens. If so, running it as one big tacsim works fine. If your players like to do a little roleplaying now and then, the various factions are detailed enough to allow complex political plots within the dungeon itself, which could easily be seen as a metropolis all on its own!

Uh oh. I don't like the way that this poll is shaping up. Perhaps I'll follow up with a "Am I fool for buying the WLD?" poll ;)

Just found your thread.

I have been running my group in the dungeon now for some 120+ gaming hours. Or once a month for 6 or so hours for 2 years. The party has just entered their third area or region. I reckon that they will do another 3 regions after this and find a way out (region H for those that know).

If you're thinking about running WLD then start here http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=100030
It's very long thread (and it lost some 600 posts when ENWorld crashed) but it's full of stuff to help you. Maps, encouters, new monsters and tons of advice and ideas.

The dungeon does need work, particularly the first region. Not a lot of work but changing some of the encounters and adding a few new ones to give it some variation should do.

And no, you weren't a fool. ;)

Okey dokey. . . I decided to give it a go. I've posted a campaign-specific feedback thread in the "Other OGL" forum here. As you can see, I've already taken some of the advice from this thread to heart. If you have any more suggestions for me, please post them to the feedback thread. Thanks, folks! :D
