About the 4 to 4 and half hour range for us. We play on weeknights so it is hard to fit too much gaming time in by the time people get there and then heading home at a reasonable hour to be ready for work the next day. I wish we could play a little longer, but it doesn't always work out.

It's interesting. Back in college, I used to be a fan of the longer the better. We would have epic gaming sessions that would go on for hours and hours, even close to days sometimes. Now, out in the real world, I find that after about 4 hours my mind starts wandering. The younguns in a group I used to play with would be happy to keep pushing on, but I'd want to call it a night. Their hunch was that I was getting old. Much hunch was that staying up till two in the morning without beer handy is a waste of staying up late.

I never got into the habit of really long gaming sessions. I think a shorter session works better, really.

In college, we played from 1pm to ~5pm on Sundays; my current group plays from ~6pm to ~10pm on Tuesdays.

I play in 3 campaigns right now

One never goes over 4 hours and sometimes barely manages to break 3, we play that (presumably) weekly

One usually falls just short of 4 hours but will occasionally break 4 we play first, third and 5th (if there is a fifth) wednesdays

One Runs somewhere in around 8 hours, but we stop to order out food in the middle. The first session actually ran nearly 12 hours (again, with a food break) - This runs once a month on a saturday.

About 6 hours, give or take 30 minutes. ..

These days I cannot focus beyond that to DM effectively. . . And I usually call the game even if we have more time to play by some miracle. . .

Four hours on weeknights. Five to six on weekends. Naturally, we'd rather play more weekends, but weekends are better nights to do everything, not just gaming, so we often play weeknights instead.
