I remember that my gaming group and I came to the 'Eric Noah 3E Update' (or somesuch) site for new D&D rules and started playing a third edition game about 4 months or so before the the PHB was released. I remember using printouts of the Attack Of Opportunity diagrams. I think a couple of months after the book came out I actually set up an ID on the message boards. "Mog Elffoe" is the name of my first 3E character, bless his shriveled blackened thing of a heart... I've been lurking forever but have recently been moved to start posting, mostly in the Fantasy & Sci-Fi Books, Movies & TV threads.

Despite my young age (and ravishing good looks), I've been here since pre-3E.
Heck, if it wasn't for Eric's site, I probably never would've picked up 3E. It was
the version of Eric's boards that came before the one with the really slow-loading
all-threads-in-one-*huge*-list. Is that pre-RPGnet? When did PC come to Iceland?
Make sense time not much make.

ForgottenHater was a she? Huh. I always thought she was gay guy. :p As for
Ruin Explorer, man, I always dreaded seeing him enter a discussion. He kept
teasing me with my then-id 'Mastermind': "Once again you show that you're not
up to your namesake.". I hated that. And since I missed it the first time around
and nobody wanted to talk about it then: Why *was* Dragoth booted?

Oh, and I've always prnounced it 'Enn'-World, not 'E-N'-World, despite my time. :D

Where the boards that were up about the time the PsiHB came out the first Noahboards or not.

All I know is by the time I arrived at the Noahboards, there was already something of an old guard.

I arrived slightly before that. So I picked the second option.

I started posting (very irregularly) back during the first incarnation of Eric's boards - to this day I hold him personally responsible for me being a 3E "early adopter" and recreating all my freakin' 2E houserules. I started posting regularly after the release of the 3E PHB, and have been a quiet fixture ever since. Sort of like the coat rack in the corner.

Say, just how much of the EN Jurassic period is salvageable from the Way Back Machine anyway?

Well, to say "because he was a dick" doesn't tell the whole story, but comes close as a synopsis.

He was banned becasue he basically dared the mods to do so.

Dragoth posted some unbeleivably cool stuff about half the time, and the other half was spent antagonizing and insulting people without cause.

He had been warned numerous times (and had had board luminaries like the universally-respected Colonel Hardisson go to bat for him with the mods), but when he finally posted a bunch of very hateful invective--aimed at homosexuals if memory serves--and dared the mods to show their true feelings on "freedom of Speech" (or something); they did.

And he learned that their feelings on freedom of speech were that it didn't extend to folks who were using it to be rude, hateful, disrespectful of fellow posters, or yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre:)

He should have learned it earlier, the lesson had been explained to him countless times.

I've been around since before 3E was released, but I never posted then, just lurked. And lurked. And lurked some more. My first post was last fall sometime.

My post count has actually reached the double digits now. Watch out! I'll catch up with Crothian in no time! :D
