How long have you been with your gaming group?

I have been interested to see how long the community here has been playing with the goup they are with. I have been with my new group for about a year. I prefer staying and playing with a group of people that I "click" with.

This isn't easy to answer. Some of the people in my group have been there for 10+ years. Others are very recent additions, from less than a year ago. And there are guys from everywhen in between...

It would have been about a year, but the first six months I only games twice with them (or anyone for that matter!) In July, I started weekly and haven't stopped since.

My main men (and women) have been with me since my school days, 15+ years ago. We try to get together once a month. My 'regular', local, once-a-week group is brand new. We've been going since about September.

All-in-all, gaming is good for me at the moment and I'm extremely happy with both games.

The core 5 players and I have known each other over 20 years. 2 of the guys have played in my campaign (the same one as I use today) since 1979 , 2 others since 1981 and the 5th is my brother . Of the 10 current players 7 have made transtitions from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and now 3.5 ed D&D. I will admit that we had about a 5 year nonplaying gap that ended right after 3rd ed came out. That version resparked both my interest and that of the rest the group. Finally the 3 new players have only known 3rd ed so we mix the vet and new quite well.

I just joined an online group playing Midnight about 4 weeks ago. That's the only group I'm part of right now.

The longest I was ever with a group was about 7 years. Usually I stay with a group around two years or so before something changes: People move away, I move away, etc.

I'm currently in three games.

One I joined in 1987, and has predominantly the same cast.

One I started running back when 3.0 just came out - we were doing character creation before the MM had been released. Bysides myself, it only has a single player overlap with the first game. We have one new member who's been with us for well over a year and a waiting list to get in.

Last game I'm in started only a few months back, but it's entirely people from the first two groups so I don't know if that counts as "a new gaming group".

The core three (me and two others) have been gaming together for about 11 or 12 years now. Other members haven't been around nearly as long and some other early members are gone, but the core three remain.

3 years. I joined an existing group in late 2001, but over the last 3 years there have been a lot of changes, so currently there's just me and one guy from the original group, and 5 people who joined at varying points.
