All totaled about 8+ years. I would have played more, but

1. 83-84 ish, my gaming group all moved away.
2. At one point my parents thought it was "of the devil"
3. I tried to work my way into college
4. When that failed I joined the military, traveled around, and played a couple years out of 8
5. Settled down in a job, and got into computer gaming.
6. Tried to start up a game, but within 6 months, personalities and babies put an end to it. Did not consider that gamers would be online, and I might find other people in the area.
7. Started going to night school, in addition to working full time.
8. Finished my degree, and started up a group, found Enworld, and other online resources, and have been playing ever since.

Darn life for getting in the way of my gaming.

23 years, I think. We're going back to grade school though, old blue and red boxed sets, and girls being icky. What I think is hilarious though is, that I've only lived in one house in my entire life with a basement - and that's the house I got introduced to D&D in. Stereotypes are scary.

This summer it will be 22 years. My current character is 10th level -- that is the highest-level character I've ever had. We usually get bored with our campaign around 7-9 level and start a new one.

I am amazed at so many people having played for more than 20 years! I played for 23 years, almost only D&D, plus a hethy dose of BRP Cthulhu.

Ye gads, it will be 18 years this summer. 1E, homebrew campaign, my first character was a paladin, and I managed to achieve the 15th level (umm, does that sound 'Mazes and Monsters'-ish to anyone else?). Where has the time gone? So many games, so little time....

29 years 5 months today. How's that for remembering? I ordered it for my birthday, and got it a few days before the actual day. Come September 10 it will 30 years even.
