How long until D&D 3.7e?

From my POV, Unearthed Arcana will be full of options to play the game differently...

...so basically, you could say that it is, in fact, 3.7

I could care less, 3.5 was bought because all but 1% of the changes i had already made myself, so they can release all the versions they want, as long as none are Dungeons and Dragons ME "Millenium Edition"

then ill go on a multi-state rampage :D
Dungeons & Dragons XP, on the other hand... :p

If 3.7 would be really compatible, then 2005 wouldn't be too soon. But I guess that won't happen - either way ;)

Hopefully not being too contoversial here but in a way I hope WotC do update the core books ala windows in a couple of years. The amount of revenue generated will keep the company interested in continuing as a RPG company rather than Hasbro just folding the company to save cash, face facts if they decided to Hasbro could kill the D&D franchise if they so wished.
Do you want that to happen?

Not really. For one thing, the name has value. If it isn't enough value for Hasbro to keep around and active, they aren't going to simply tuck it in a corner and forget it. They'll sell it to someone.

Also, the OGL makes it kind of hard to actually kill the thing. hasbro itself could never produce another D&D product again, but third party publishers could perfectly legally keep it alive indefinitely.

not necessarily. Larger corporations tend to be quite protective of IP, so they could do just that (though very unlikely).

Your comment re: OGL is valid though. Essentially now D&D cant be killed off. It Will Rise Again.

Trainz comment re Unearthed Arcana is how I feel about 3.7.

Well, but may i suggest the D&D XP Professional version. It works much more stable and offers more feat(ure)s

More importantly, how long until the next printing, with all the eratta fixed? I really don't want to buy the books and download another book's worth of eratta files. So I'm sort of waiting.
