I know. I'm an knife collector. I meant to say sheath or scabbard. That's what I get for posting in a rush.

*shrug* Not a problem, just an opening to bring the whole subject up at all. :)

Ah, so it is a move equiv.

No.

So you're telling me that not only reaching into the HHH to find what you want is a free action, that pulling it Out is a free action?

How is pulling something out of the HHH different then pulling something out of a regular backpack (Assuming that the item in question is on the top).

Retrieving a stored item is not two separate actions. Table 8-4: Miscellaneous Actions, PH, page 128 shows that retrieving a stored item is a single move-equivalent action. Heward's Handy Haversack makes this a free action, so long as the item is specific.

Yeah, the HHH errata is completely silly.

Why retrieving something from the HHH on your back is a free action, while drawing a sword is a move equivalent action, is beyond me.

Probably the HHH infuses your arm with majicks to move faster or something for this particular purpose! ;)

And all just because retrieving an item from a Bag of Holding is a move equivalent action, so the HHH must be faster, because of its special property. They should've changes the Bag of Holding to a full round action instead IMHO.

Quickdraw? Huh? I got a Haversack! ;)

I don't see why. For 2,000gp you get just under half the storage capacity of a type 1 Bag of Holding, but you get the nice benefit of faster retrieveal.

Bag of Holding (Bag 1): 2,500gp; 250 pound capacity.
Heward's Handy Haversack: 2,000gp; 120 pound capacity, faster retrieval.

Seems fine to me. In regards to drawing a sword from Heward's Handy Haversack as a free action, the Haversack is just as vulnerable to bare weapons as a Bag of Holding, so it's not something I would recommend doing.

I just think free is a bit much, compared to other things you can do with free and/or move-equivalent actions.

Like what? I'm not poking and prodding. I'm just trying trying to see this from your perspective.
