How many arrows does your PC carry? And who keeps count?

My archer fighter carries about 100 arrows. He goes through them pretty fast, and I'm always restocking whenever I can.

Waiting to get enough money to commission a Quiver of Plenty so I don't have to lug those around anymore...

Around about 50 normal ones and a mixed group of fifty or so special arrows (magical; ones with different heads on them, like one to stun fowl; a few with Continual Flame to serve as signals, etc). I keep track on a little grid, checking off each one. Usually I'll say 'I'm recovering what ammo I can' after a battle, if there is time, and the GM tells me how many I get back.

As a player, I personally do keep track of my ammo, but my DM doesn't generally worry about it except for special ammo since I do make sure to carry an ample supply.

As a DM, I'm not to worried about mundane ammunition either except in those very rare situations where they're along way from civilization for long periods of time. The players usually carry a good supply anyway, and I just figure replacement ammo gets factored into the upkeep I have them pay at the start of each session. Saves on book keeping.

I don't keep track of normal ammo, either as a player or a DM, unless the party is low level enough that normal ammo is actually an issue. Otherwise, I assume that the characters have enough ammo to last until they get back to town.

We used to keep track, but one day I gave the archer a quiver of infinite arrows (nonmagical arrows), and since then everyone seems to have assumed that they have infinite arrows as well. I use the upkeep variation so the arrows don't matter, and the PCs seem to enjoy the not having to worry about it.

I usally keep track of my own ammo --

generally speaking my characters carry 40 arrows -- 12 alchemical silver 12 cold iron and 16 other -- This can be varied a bit FREX increasing alcehmical silver arrows if I am were hunting or something

Crossbow types (light only) carry 20 bolts arranged 6/6/8 in the same fashion

I have rarely bother to recover the arrows or bolts unless I expect to be away from restock

If I am on a long long adventure I may have a mule or a capped quiver stuck in a bag of holding for resupply

I have yet to play an archer specialist

-- If I do I will be getting a quiver of elhonna ASAP and be carrying 60 arrows plus the various javelins and whatall --

At low levels I keep track of them, at high levels I don't (standard arrows only, of course). ;)

Usually carry 40 of them, unless extradimensional space is available.
Then a dedicated archer would carry several hundred arrows.

I always keep track, 81 adamantine tipped, 62 masterwork at the moment - will top off to an even 150 next time the character is in town.

I read somewhere a long time ago that standard issue for a mongol horse archer was two quivers each with approximately 60 arrows (5 dozen). Since then my archer characters have always had at least a quiver of 60 std arrows.

I keep track when I play, and ask that my players do to...but I only track magical ammo as the DM.
