I'm not a big convention-goer anyway. Don't like the noise or the crowds.
That's fair. I definitely enjoy them less as I get older. Any day now I will sublimate into a Dana Carvey SNL character.

I went to a Star Trek convention and a guitar convention as a young adult. Haven't been to a convention since. So I guess in that sense I've been a grumpy old man since I was about 20 years old?
Did the Shat scare you off?

I have only been going to the one local con and keep wanting to attend the other close one that is smaller and upcoming. This year was the first as a listed DM though. I had run a pick-up game when tables were overfilled a couple years ago.

None: I went to an Anime conve turn with my girlfriend when I was 18 or 19, I didn't game there but I did buy a Star Wars Miniatures Combat Starter Set in the Hall. That's the extent of my convention experience.

Seems the "0" crowd is pretty predominant here.

Same as every year (this will be my 10th,): GameHole Con in Madison, WI.

It's just the right size. Big enough to attract "names" (Rothfuss, Mercer, Crawford, Perkins, Greenwood, Cook, Rasmussen, the good Gygax, etc), but not so big it's hard to get seats at events, the food truck lines aren't too long, and there's plenty of hotel space (although the closest to the event do sell out, there are plenty more within a 15 minute drive).
And if you have to drive from one of those further-out hotels, there's usually ample parking. As a local, I drive in each day and sleep in my own bed at night!

0 for the last year. But a friend did a local one in June. He treats it as a vacation away from home even though it is only about 15 miles away. Used to go a lot. But cons like Dragoncon and Origins have gotten so large that fighting the crowds takes a lot of the fun away. Often felt like I was one of those extras in the ST-TOS episode The Mark of Gideon.

How many conventions (comic book conventions, gaming conventions, cosplay conventions, stamp collecting conventions, whatever) did you go to in the last twelve months? Vote for the option that best describes your Convention Cred. And for extra Cred(it), post more details and photos in the comments!
I usually attend ONE convention a year post-COVID, and that's the one I can literally take the train to, New York Comic-Con.

I used to attend Heroes Con in Charlotte. It's an ACTUAL comic-con that focuses on comics and not pop culture, but I haven't been since 2019.
I have never been to any big gaming conventions in the US.
