I voted 2, but only because there wasn't an option for 3 or more. ;)

(Edit: Odd, when I was voting, it didn't display "3" or "4+" as options  )

At any given time, I've participated in 3-5 groups at most. Most of my campaigns have been played or DMed over OpenRPG, since I moved to Arizona and was unable to hang out with my old friends. At some points in the past few years, I was participating in a different group roughly every other day for a short time (each of them weekly or biweekly campaigns, so doing this each week with them). When I was running my Oriental Adventures campaign, I was also playing in Emiricol's Bandora campaign. Around the time I started running my Rhunaria campaign, I was also running Adventures of the S.S. Fortuna, and playing in Emiricol's For More Than Glory campaign, and playing some short games with the gaming group at my college, and I'm fairly sure it was around that time that I joined a Shadowrun campaign (that didn't last long unfortunately) and was playing in a play-by-e-mail D&D campaign. And there are several other brief campaigns I participated in or ran at various times.

On average though, I'm usually just participating in 1 or 2 gaming groups; right now just Rhunaria, around a year ago it was both that and For More Than Glory and Devor's unnamed city campaign. For much of the past year I was unable to game at all.

I voted "two", because the new, bigger options weren't up yet; the actual answer is 4.

I DM for two home groups that meet on a (more-or-less) monthly basis.

I also am the primary DM for a group (mostly from my old home town) that only gets together 4 to 6 times a year; however, two of those meetings are multi-day game-a-thons.

Finally, I'm a member of a loose-knit group of 15 or so people who play various games (mostly RPGA stuff) online, via AOL Instant Messenger; with that group, I'll typically play on two weekday evenings a week, probably 3 weeks out of a month.

Other than myself, the only constant across those groups is my lovely bride, who's in the first three.

Yes, 3 and 4+ are now options...I seem to have been the first to stick my voting toe into these previously unexplored realms, voting for 3. :)

I run 2; different parties in the same ongoing campaign with different players in each group (though there's one overlapping player now), with players sometimes switching groups. I play in 1, and that group mostly overlaps my games, but not completely. Each group tries to meet weekly, and most of the time succeeds. All are tabletop; I'm a snob that way, to the point of saying anything not face to face doesn't count. :)

I try to keep to a maximum of two table-top groups, usually weekly or bi-weekly games. Normally I'm running one and playing in another, but as of late I've been enjoying playing in not one game but two! Right now one group plays D&D and the other Star Wars D6.

Hi,

Three at the moment, although only one meets every week, and one of them is just me and my wife -- I've been running campaigns just for her characters for years.

Cheers

technically 3

three tables of Living Arcanis.

Well, I hope to launch a table of A Games of Thrones soon, but it will be with the same people, so three it is.

Hmm for me it is a lot.

I weekly face to face game
I DM four PBEMs
I co-DM another, but rarely post to it
I play in three more PBEMS, though I would like 2-3 more

So quite a few.

Just one group on PbP.
I'd love to play on tabletop in real time, but unforutnately my neck of the woods is not know for its D&D enthusiasts.

I game in one primary group we have been gaming together since 1991/2 in the Laurel, MD area. I also have a if possible once a month group that is rather new and I am not sure where this will go.

I would love to game with Universe and the Miss' if I could, but our group is just to large now. And to top that off if I played in another gaming group I may very well need the services of a divorce lawyer!
