How many "official" classes & PrCs give +1d6 sneak attack at 1st level?

Where is he getting scores like that at 18th level? One power up every four levels means four power ups by this point. Assuming he started out max (18) in both scores, and put 2 in Str, that leaves 2 for Dex, a score of 20 in each.

Don't forget the +5 inherent and +6 enhancement bonuses from the oodles of magic items an 18th level character would probably have.

Yay! let's see...
Human - 1 Feat
plus one at 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, and 18th level

Feats: Quick Draw, Bayushi's Technique x5, Flick of the Wrist, and either Weapon Finesse (Dagger) *or* Quicker than the Eye

hmmm... let's say he has Str20, Dex28 at this level, BAB +15/+10/+5, with a Ghost Touch Dagger of Speed +5 he's at

+25/+25/+20/+15
*or* (with Weapon Finesse)
+29/+29/+24/+19

Sneak Attack: 1d4+5+5+18d6 = (on avg.) 75.5 - if all 4 attackts hit that's a whooping 302 pts. of damage in one round, or 377.5 in the first round thanks to Flick of the Wrist!

Ah, I don't have OA, so didn't know about the Ninja. Fighter BAB AND rogue's sneak attack? That sounds pretty unbalanced, but maybe other things balance it out. *shrug*

If it's damage you want, check out my Fang of Lolth smackdown in the Sultans of Smack thread, around page 9 or 10. He can easily double the damage of your guy, especially if I added a few more sneak attack dice from that Bayushi's Technique. At the very least, I suggest you take 1 level of ranger and dual wield. Take Improved TWF later on, and then you'll have 2 more attacks/round.

What about armor of heavy fortification?

That is going to put a serious dent in the hp damage dealt.

Also, who is going to hit 4 times? Maybe against an unarmored target.

But against a well prepared Fighter/Cleric type with a 43 or so AC you are going to be lucky to hit 1 times (even then you will be denied any chance of a critical/sneak attack due to the Fortification).

10 Base
13 Full Plate of Heavy Fortification (Mithral) +5
7 Large Shield (Mithral) +5
5 Amulet of Natural Armor +5
5 Ring of Protection +5
3 Dex 16 +3

That is a 43 AC that can be had without any extra special items.

Take you +15 BAB and +5 Dagger and you have to roll a natural 20 on each attack, even then NO CRITICAL.

well, who would go out with only one weapon?
Just get him a Brilliant Energy Dagger +5 as a backup & those pesky plates & shields become dead weight

10+5(natural armor)+3(Dex)+5(deflection bonus from ring)=23

...no problem there ;)

Do you really want all of your NPC's wearing armor like this? Can I join your campaign?:D

You'll have to lose one of those Feats. Bayushi's Technique has another Feat as a Prerequisite, as well as minimum scores in Int and BAB.

Note also that it does not add its damage to all Sneak Attacks - only those times in which your opponent is denied his Dex Bonus.

d6 hit points and no armor restriction should be a good start to really limiting that Fighter BAB. Otherwise, it's less skill points, a trumped up dodge feat instead of evasion and uncanny dodge, and some other stuff.

And it's AEG's Ninja base class from the Rokugan book. OA doesn't have a ninja base class, only a prestige class.

The ninja basically has a glass jaw. It can dish out the damage, but if it gets caught by a fighter (or worse, a bunch of fighters), a couple of rounds of full attacks will probably reduce it to paste.

Yup. Assasinate the daimyo's favorite son quietly and efficiently, but get the hell out quick or the guards will eat you for lunch.
