How much have you spent so far in D&D?

Do I have a problem? Do the other people here who have spent thousands on their hobby have a problem?

No.

Yeah, I know a few people with "hobbies," too--crack, coke, meth, alcohol... When my wife starts to get a little huffy, she pauses after a bit and expresses gratitude that I'm not killing myself with a different addiction.

Admittedly, that's not much of an excuse to continue sinking hundreds of dollars into my collection (especially since I'm not currently in a gaming group)....

That's one (of the many) things I love about this board. There is always someone way more obsessive/compulsive about a particular item than I am!

So some of those d20s must be numbered 1-20. Aren't just just a pale imitations of the originals, numered 0-9 twice? Or did you get a different schtick yet?

Roughly, I think I've spent about $5000 so far, just on 3.0 & 3.5 books. I've never bought a game related novel, but I do buy "regular" books that I use as resources for world-building and general information, such as books on mythology, history, architecture and medieval combat. Still, I won't count those because I would have been buying them even if I didn't play D&D.

The amount I've spent on dice is trivial by comparison, perhaps $100 for me and my husband both. I think I've spent around $400 on PDFs, but that's just an estimate.

Right now, my wish list at the EN World store has over $500 worth of stuff on it. I'm hoping that my husband will get me some of it for Christmas. If he doesn't, well, I'll just have to spend a big chunk of change on D20 stuff come January.

I picked a mid-range number. But I'm an odd situation because I HAVE probably $1000 worth of stuff, but I only bought some of it (got a lot of freebies over the years). Heck, for some reason I'm still on WotC's freebie list (just got Underdark, Draconomicon and Exalted Deeds in the mail a couple of days ago).

I'm over $1000 just with books & PDFs, not even counting the d20 Modern, Star Wars, Buffy, etc stuff. I have purchased all of them with a discount, be it at amazon.com, ebay, my FLGS or the ENworld store, too or that price would be much higher. I know that I buy alot and try to get as many discounts as possible. If you add in my miniatures & dice I'm probably over $2000.

That's just my d20/D&D 3e stuff. I'm glad to know that others have more than me. Makes me feel better.
