How much sleep do you need?

How much sleep do yo uneed on average to feel rested. For me I feel like I need at last 10 hours to feel rested. 15 hours for me to want to actually get out of bed. :)

I'm not a morning person. I'm even less so if I get less than 7 hours of sleep. The more the better but 7 seems to be my absolute minimum.
 

I'm still a teenager. I really don't need more than 5 hours, and if I get 7 or above, I end up groggy and tired the rest of the following day. Go raging hormones and a Vitamin D deficiency! Whoo!
 



To feel rested?

6-8 hours.

To function?

2-4 hours.

How much do I get?

2-5 hours.

Chronic Insomnia. Sucks much.

With Sleep Medication, no caffeine or stimulants etc?

3-6 hours.

I've been this way since I was 6 months old.


There have been times my wife (who needs 8+) has been ready to kill me.
 

I probably average about 5.5 hours/night...

I usually fall asleep halfway through the 11:00 news and my alarm is set for 5:02 AM on work days. With 2 very small children, late night interruptions are an occassional occurance. Every once in a blue moon, I will get 7-8 hours, but that is pretty rare.

I can function on 2-3 hours a night, but am not my best the next day.

Before we had kids, my wife slept like it was her job. It wasn't uncommon for her to sleep 10-12 hours on the weekends. She can also grab a nap at the drop of a hat. Me? I find it extremely hard to nap during the day...just too much to do. Guess I figure I will sleep when I am dead :p!

My sleep cycle is unfortunately tied to my stress levels.
When I'm relaxed and feeling good, I get 8 hours of slep no problem.
When I'm stressed out, and really need the rest, I get maybe 5 hours, and I wake up every hour on the hour.
Sucks.
