The meeting was with a Doctor, not a pencil pusher. As for how it went, it went about as positive as we could hope. The Doctor was very much on our side and will be forwarding a report that is extremely favorable to my wife's case.
However she was very clear that her report is far from a guarantee of a positive result. The Doctor even went so far as to tell my wife how to fight the VA's decision by going to which local politician. She did let us know of the success a certain member of the House of Representatives has had, so we hope she wins next week in case we do need her help 60 days from now. She'll definitely be getting my vote, which I was intending to give to her even before hearing this Doctors opinion.
So we are hopeful, but with huge restraint. The Doctor confirmed what we have known all along, my wife's case is completely valid, and supported by a "very good paper trail", so sooner or later the VA will either do what they should have since day 1, or will do when it finally goes before a judge.
Hopefully they will do right by my wife in the next 60 days. Which is the given time frame for them to make a decision based off of this meeting today.
