How often do you level in 3.*e?

I voted once a fortnight and once a month as we usually level every 2-3 sessions and we play on average three times a month.

BTW, I am serious. Well done poll.

The one choice I wish I'd included now is "1 level/six weeks", as that approximates the rate in AD&D. Oh well.

I voted 1 every 3-4 months.

In the last game I ran, PCs went from 1st to 8th or 9th in 22 months of play of Lost City of Barakus, 2 games/month & half XP.

In the game I'm playing in, we just levelled for the second time after I think 11 sessions, playing bi-weekly for 3 months, then 3 month gap, then bi-weekly another 3 months, so 2 levels in 9 months, also at roughly half XP.

It looks like 1 level per month is typical in 3e.

At low levels its about each week. After about 7th level, then it goes to about every other week.

If we get in 4 sessions in a month then we level about once a month. Normally we game 3 of the 4 weeks in a month so level just a bit slower.

I chose both, "About 1 level/three or four months" and "About 1 level/six months" as our average ranges in there somewhere. . .

We play every two weeks.

Given that we've had plenty of times when we were lucky to play once a month, I'd say it averages to about every 3-4 months.
