So, the first time I asked this question, I accidently forgot to include the poll. Sorry.

Anyway, I use my own material more often than I use a published module wholesale, and I usually feel oddly guilty when I do use a module. Wierd.

Demiurge out.

I like and use modules but my own adventures and plots come first. If I have a module that fits what I want to do I'll use it. But I rarely have the campaign shift to fit a particular module.

Somewhere between 2nd and 3rd editions I forgot how to make my own adventures. It's disturbing, but I sit down to come up a scenario and I just go all blank. So when I DM, and that's not a terribly common thing, I always use a module. Once I've got that basis I can usually add on to it, or even link two or more unrelated modules together with material I create.

I steal a few ideas from modules, but the problem of trying to make a module fit my world (and house rules) is so large that ultimately they are not worth the money to me.

So about the only modules I look at anymore are freebie downloads or ones that friends have.

I ran an entire campaign using nothing but modules!

... and the next campaign I run will also be centered around modules. I've got a full time job and other hobbies, so I don't let D&D take up all my time.

I have no problem using published modules, but I do prefer to wirte my own. I also like to use bits and pieces from published modules to use in my own like magic items, and the occasional map or NPC.

Once in a blue moon I'll use a module. For one thing I don't feel like putting down the money for 'em, for another I generally feel I can come up with something nearly or just as good on my own that'll fit my players, PCs, world and game better.

I have bought a total of two modules and I ran neither.

One was an old 2nd editon one, but I can't remember the name of it. The other was Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, and I bought that out of curiosity, but its been a nice source of thought on dungeon design. (not that I use dungeons often)

I like to have things tailored to my PCs and I enjoy adventure design. So, no modules for me.
