Just a bit of an experiment...I'd like to find out how many EN Users use RPGs as a framework to describe the Real World.

(There...I fixed the subject. Happy?)

RPGS and the Real World

I think it would've been cool to also find out which rpgs were associated with which response, as some are not condusive (because of rules, theme, etc.) to being applied to the answers you provided.

For example, I wouldn't consider D&D to be something of a 'framework for reality'--or any RPG for that matter--but it is a good beer & pretzels or a hobby to be taken somewhat seriously. As opposed to games like the White Wolf World of Darkness line, which can be taken more seriously, teach its players and storytellers lessons, etc.

Then why wasn't the question:

"Do you use RPGs as a framework for the Real World?"

() Yes
() No

I'd have to agree that if that was your question it could have been worded better.

I don't assign alignment to people. But I do tend to think of characters and situations in TV shows and movies in game terms:

"Ow! That was a critical hit!"
"Oooh! Failed his saving throw!"
"She has a high intelligence but a low wisdom"

etc.
