How to calculate damage?

I just wanted to clarify something on effects that add damage to attacks.

For instance, the ranger's Twin Strike with weapon focus would be 1d10+1 for each attack, right?

Do effects like weapon focus also increase when you multiply the weapon damage, ie. 2 (W) + Dex (18) would be 2d10+5 with weapon focus, not +6 right?

Correct, although you are now setting off a nagging doubt in me that i'd have to go and re-read the PHB to soothe.

You've got it right. Bonuses are only added once to a single damage roll against a target, whether that roll is 1w, 2w or whatever. Just remember bonuses are only added to rolls and not to defined (static) damage like Cleave's extra target's damage.

Question:
The Ranger Exploit Twin Strike does damage only for the weapon dice 1[W]... strength or dex are not added. My question is... is any bonus (Weapon enchantment bonus, Feat bonus, etc.) added to the weapon dice? I have read through the PHB and I can not find a citation that says weapon damage 1[W] includes anything more than just the die roll.

Any help (and especially a rules citation) would be helpful and appreciated.

PHB p.276 defines the general rule, which is Damage Roll plus applicable modifiers, which include several types.

PHB p.55-6 specifically tells us Accessory bonuses are included inherently by the presence of the Implement or Weapon keyword.

Meanwhile, attribute based bonuses (we are told on p. 276) are included only when something specifically about the power tells you to include them, which Twin Strike does not (for damage).

Thanks for the quick reply.

So if a Eldarin Ranger with two +1 longswords uses Twin Strike (and hits), each hit will do 1d8+1...
And in an effort to increase damage, the Eldarin Ranger has taken the feat Eldarin Soldier (+2 damage with Lonswords and Spears)? Now he does 1d8+3...

Rangers do more damage than I initially thought :)

Rangers are damage machines and Twin Strike is one of the primary grinding surfaces of that machine (to carry the metaphor a little to far).
