Well, I don't know about "countless," because they could be counted if you had the time and the resources. But yes, metagaming is considered a faux pas / pejorative at some tables, just like "rules lawyer" or "munchkin" or "powergamer" or "hobomurderer"* or a number of other phrases (for DMs, "killer DM," "Monty haul campaign," etc.).
If your argument is simply, "I don't like that other people don't like this," that's fine. But to paraphrase the great Judge John Hodgman, people like what they like. Suck it up buttercup. If you want to be a rules lawyer, be one. Join a table with other rules lawyers, or where the other players and the DM appreciate good rules lawyerin'. Same with metagaming.
