Side note: homo sapien is generally a mixture between cro magnun, denisovan, neanderthal, and an exceedingly small amountbof a couple other hominids with the lions share made up of cro magnun. Then of the reming small amount a HUGE portion of that tiny leftover is denisovan and neanderthal with an even smaller amount being made up by very tiny quantities of other hominids sprinkled in. We are actually quite an unusual hybrid species. Quite weirdly, sub saharan africans lack neanderthal DNA. Really quite odd. Just happens to be a thing. Basically we are all cro magnun with a little sprinkling of other stuff in there though.

Cro magnon is an archaic name for us, homo sapien sapien. Not a different species. Neanderthals & Denisovans are our cousin, or sibling, species. Sub-Saharan africans lack Neanderthal AND Denisovan DNA admixture because both of those species were located outside of Africa; only populations that migrated out of Africa met them.

Cro magnun are considered anatomically modern, but it would be a mistake to not consider them different. They had clear differences.

You'll have to take it up with the scientists. It's an archaic term with no formal taxonomic status. When it is used, it specifically references European early modern humans (EEMH), and isn't applicable outside of Europe.

EEMH are considered to be Robust physique form whereas modern humans tend to be Gracile, they are entirely human but have some traits that differ due to behavioural adaptions (Or rather CroMagnons hadnt adapted yet) including the larger skulls (stronger jaw for chewiing meat, larger brain cavity but smaller cerebellum) and denser bones and hip joints for long distance foraging. Recent Humans became more Gracile probaby due to development of agriculture and sedentary living.

generally though there are around 127 extant human lineages and there may have been more that are now extinct.
