D&D 5E How to stop a Thief

I'm looking for all your creative uses of spells that keep annoying rogues from stealing from your pack. mage hand or no mage hand.

My list so far:
Leomund's Secret Chest (costly components)
Alarm (assuming it can be cast on my pack.)

This. And yes, I read what you said about it being a party member. That sort of nonsense should never be tolerated unless everyone is onboard with it from the beginning. ("But its my 'alignment/character'" is never an excuse for this kind of behavior at the table.)

Charm the thief and make him carry your backpack. Or just lean across the table and slap the player! And the DM, for that matter!

Oh, in that case your first resort should be to ask him to stop, because you're supposed to be friends.

If that doesn't work, then cut off his hands.

It's not clear from your post whether you THE PLAYER are ok with the thief stealing your character's stuff.

If you are: what level is your character? What proficieciencies does the rogue have?

If you are not: talk to the DM and deal with this problem out of character. Because an in-game solution to an out-of-character conflict is always a bad choice.
