Howl of Fury and killing the intiial enemy

Howl of Fury has the Barbarian attack an enemy and then do a Blast 3 which includes the target and the everyone besides the original target take damage equal to the Con mod.

What happens if the initial enemy is killed? If the Barbarian hits the enemy, and they die, do they still get to hit the other enemies? I wasn't sure because the power says that the Blast must include the original enemy, even though it doesn't take any damage.

We have been playing it as the Barbarian still gets the Howl and hits the other enemies, but I wish the power had said it should include the original enemy's "square" instead.

Yes.

The original enemy's square won't work, because the enemy may be in more than one square.


The thing to remember here is a dead enemy is still there, even tho he has no effect on the battle. There are effects that can bring an enemy monster back to life. They are certainly not common, but they exist. Therefore, the enemy is still -there-, but in 99.9% of battles, he's not actually going to have any effect.
