Hulk Promo

In the June issue of Game Trade Magazine we ran a Hulk promo.

Champions, Silver Age Sentinels, Marvel, and Mutants and Masterminds each gave you their versions of the green monstrosity.

Have you seen it? What are your impressions?

If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for? Go to your local retail store and ask for a copy of the June issue of Game Trade Magazine!

This was a great promo for superhero RPG system comparisons - I only wish Silver Age Sentinels had included a d20 version of the Hulk as well. Nice job by all the companies involved.

And if I ever get my PhD in Nuclear Physics, I might try Champions some time... :D

I specifically asked them to do a Tri-Stat version of the Hulk since d20 was already covered by Mutants & Masterminds.

That's cool - I know you have to keep page space in mind, and I would hate for you to have to cut something else like Monte's monthly Shandler Chronicles.

You guys have a great magazine BTW - just as useful to the fans as well as the industry. I look forward to it every month. Keep up the great work :)

I was very impressed. It, better than any advertising campaign, demonstrated the differences and similarities between the three leading superhero games. (For instance, SAS starts with Bruce Banner and gives him a massive Alternate Form, while M&M begins with the Hulk and gives you Banner's genius essentially for free.)

I'd love to see something similar for upcoming films like Underworld or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Heck, let Spycraft, D20 Modern and HERO have their shot at James Bond or something.

They actually have the Hulk stats in a PDF on their website.

Follow the "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" link off the front page.

It's pretty cool. Hulk is stated out in SAS D20, Tri-Stat, Champions/Hero, and the new Marvel diceless game. The writeups are done by the publishers of the games, so they are about as official as you can get for these kind of things.

It really gives a nice feel for the differences between the systems. The hero writeup is by far the longest, but includes alot of his "lesser" powers that the others leave out. The Marvel one is pretty basic, but seems to imply a much more "fast and loose" approach. The others are in between.

Thanks, Jhamin. I was just going to say all that. You saved me the trouble.

We currently do not have any plans to do this for any of the other upcoming movies. But we do have other promotions in upcoming issues that are just as interesting.

Make sure to go to your local retail store and pick up a copy of this and every issue. It is the only way we can continue to do special promotions like this.

What did, for example, M&M writeup leave out?

Only Marvel RPG gave him regeneration, but besides that... ;)

However, the original dumb Green Hulk did not have regeneration. He had a pretty much impenetrable skin.
