I only hope I live long enough to see it. I think that the 2020-2040's are a little too optimistic but I hope not. The sooner the better.

We live in times of rapid technological change. We are fairly limited on medical advances due to a lot of red tape, but I see no reason that computer and nanotech will not be reality by the 2040s.

Heck, they think we'll have our first molecular factory running in the next 10-15 years.

What will we do for a living when computers (and robots) twice or more intelligent as ourselves will be readily available everywhere for every task???

I would really like to think that, but every few years it's 'In 5-10 years we'll have computers as smart as we are' or 'In 5-10 years we'll have nanofactories capable of building anything from just dirt and air', but 5-10 years is always 5-10 years off...
