Humanoid Levels and Stat Increase?

Normally a character would get a stat increase every four levels. Does this also work for a PC with monstrous humanoid levels.

Example:
A Orge with 4 levels of giant and 4 levels of fighter. Would he get a stat increase for the 4th level of giant and then with the 4th level of fighter?

It took me a while to find this, but you don't get stat increases for monster HD (except if the monster advances as a monster above its basic number of HD). The info is in the appendix of the 3.5 MM, in the section about levelling monsters.

Ok after reading the entry in the MM, I understand it now. You don't get a stat increase for your humanoid levels but they do count as you advance in HD or class levels.

Example.
A minotaur has 6 levels of humaniod and if he gains 2 levels of fighter that would give him one stat bonus for the 8th level (6+2=8)
