For example, let's say that there are 10,000 people on these boards. Perhaps only 100 of them care whether female dwarves have beards or not. Fifty may feel strongly one way and 50 the other. So if you say something against female dwarves having beards, you can expect to get slammed by 50 opponents. That may seem like a lot if you're at the receiving end, but compared to the number of posters who don't care it's not that many.
for the record, female dwarves do not have beards. :)

Anal-retentive* should be hyphenated.

*I don't suggest putting that into a search engine.

But I want to try out Hal's googling suggestion to support the argument . . . oh my:eek:

It's a 3.5e revision--sorry. Halflings have hairy feet. 3.5e is a more hirsute edition.

In response, I believe Mongoose Publishing is releasing The Shaver's Guide series (The Shaver's Guide to Bikini Spiders anyone?)

a·nal-re·ten·tive

adj. Psychology:
Indicating personality traits, such as meticulousness, avarice, and obstinacy

Prolly, a slang contraction of the term proletariat, used with condescension. Your attempts to identify yourself as just a working class Joe is contradicted by naming yourself prolly one, You think you are THE working class joe, do you? The ultimate leader for the common man? How arrogant.
The slang version of the term "proletariat" is "prole". "Prolly" is a slang version of "probably."

Also, I don't want to hear any more Freudian terms on this board. The man was an unscientific quack.

Kraedin,

Of course prole is the proper slang term for the proletariat. Adding the "ly" onto it is a condescending, insulting corruption of the term. As if using the term "pally" instead of "pal" claiming an unearned familiarity with someone. It is obvious from the context "now I have to admit I am prolly one" that he is attempting to claim leadership of the masses while also looking down upon them at the same time.

MEG Hal, you should be ashamed of yourself, "prolly one" indeed.
