[Humor] Are all gamers as anal as we are?

I resent the implication that I, as one of the EN World Board posters, has pet peeves. In fact, I don't have any pets. I looked up "peeves" in the MM I & II and was unable to find a picture/description. They must not exist.

Keep your "peeves" to yourselves.

You forgot to double space after periods.
Double-spacing after sentences is no longer considered standard for word processing/computer text. It is a typewriting convention.

I often think that rpg'ers don't need to fear politicians, religions, or mothers groups- we are our own worse enemies.
Should read "worst enemies."

Oy, I think I need professional help :D

Obviously, you're clueless when it comes to typography! Double-spacing after periods is a typesetting convention. The need for double-spacing was already outdated by the time typewriters came around.

Interestingly, the idiotic practice of putting punctuation marks inside quotations, "like this," also dates from the typesetting era. Doing it the other (logical) way, "like this", tends to leave the comma or period surrounded by a lot of white space. Unprotected periods like this were easily damaged in the printing process, hence the convention of putting the punctuation directly after the last word, where it is more protected.

But is it me or do we go close to the edge and cross it on being as correct as googley* possible?

* googley (v) to use google search engine to find "proof" that your side of the argument is correct.

The use of the word "googley" in the above sentence is clearly an adjective, Hal, *NOT* a verb. :(

SHEESH! ;)

(just joshin')

Uh, HELLO!, did you look in the Fiend Folio (Super Secret Bootleg Edition--168 pages of Official goodness, mimeo-graphed & smuggled out of the office when Gary was forced out of TSR). :p

And both of you are clueless to the fact that double-spacing doesn't work in vB. For instance, there are ten spaces beteen the last full stop and this sentence. But you can only see one.
