Halve the damage then subtract hardness. A +5 Adamantite Longsword would have 56 Hit Points (6 for Adamantite Longsword, 50 for +5) and Hardness 30 (20 for Adamantite, 10 for +5). You'd have to do 172 damage to break one of those in one hit, and the absolute maximum (20 consecutive 6's!) damage from a fall is 120.
Falling is not energy damage and thus not halved against objects. I think lighter objects may take less falling damage though...

I guess Roy's last words were going to be
"Maybe if I used the Shillelagh Oil on my gauntlet/fist/boot/forehead, then I could smash the talisman!"

And I think Belkar will be alright if he
wears some of Roy's skull as a hat, thus not triggering the mark of justice.
:)

And it not only follows the heroic path of going to the underworld and gaining wisdom, it follows the American Action Movie myth: The Black Hero dies first.

Well if Roy doesn't come back I guess the "player" can roll up a new character to join the Order of the Stick. Although it is distubring to see
that the scratches on Roy's chest look like "#1". Maybe we are looking at a TPK in the making?

Now, if Xykon was a real bastard, he'd have taken the time to get Redcloak to greater create undead Roy and then send him off to fight his friends.

Actually it usually did not matter if the character was a hero, secondary character or comic relief.

Hmmm, in that case V is next as the nerd buys it second, then Haley (pretty girl) , then Belkar or Durkon (other ethinc person of non African decent), then Nale (comic relief dude) and whoever is left between Blekar and Durkon (since there is no one left after that).... Suddenly I don't feel so good.

Belkar and V maybe. Haley will live{too sneaky], so will Durkon because of how slow he moves{foes can easily avoid the cleric to achieve the mission]. Elan might buy the farm, but overall, they will make it out unless their players give up.
