Hunter’s Quarry and multiclass Ranger

Warrior of the Wild feat says,

Once per encounter, you can use the ranger’s Hunter’s Quarry class feature.

And, Hunter’s Quarry says,

Once per turn as a minor action, you can designate the enemy nearest to you as your quarry.
Once per round, you deal extra damage to your quarry. The extra damage is based on your level. If
you can make multiple attacks in a round, you decide which attack to apply the extra damage to after all the attacks are rolled.
The hunter’s quarry effect remains active until the end of the encounter, until the quarry is defeated, or until you designate a different target as your quarry. You can designate one enemy as your quarry at a time.

Well, then what does "Once per encounter" exactly mean in this case?

1. You can designate an enemy as your quarry once per encounter. And while the enemy is your quarry, you can inflict extra damage once per round.
2. You can designate an enemy as your quarry once per encounter. And you can inflict extra damages once per encounter.
3. Non of those two interpretations.

I guess interpretation 1 should be too strong. But I am not sure if rules are supporting interpretation 2 or other interpretations.

Have you downloaded the errata? That was one of the things changed in the first wave because, yes, it is too strong for a multiclass feat. :)

Your Quarry only lasts until the end of your next turn. So, you can get the damage boost twice, basically.
