I admit I was wrong about American Dad

I watched the pilot episode of American Dad a few months ago and found it really, really stupid. I didn't think the show would be any good. But I've watched it the last couple of weeks and found it to be really, really funny.

So far, my favorite part has been

where the dad lies on the bed and his wife asks him if she should pleasure him with her mouth. He says yes and she gives him a big ole zerbert.

Highlight above if not easily offended.

It's not quite as endearing as "Family Guy," (especially in the characters), but it's getting there.

And I don't see how someone could get offended by that. That IS the joke.

No, I do, but it's a double entendre. That's why it's funny.

Likewise --- I **hated** the pilot and thought (at the time) how lucky
I was that it didn't make it past that episode.

But now, watching them, they are kinda funny.

I'll have to give it another try ... couldn't sit through Sunday's after seeing two new Simpsons and a new Family Guy.

It has been a LOT better than the crap they aired after the Superbowl, but Family Guy is still much much better in my opinion.

I didn't hate the Pilot, but from the way things were pushed, it sounded like they were just going to hammer through the SAME political jokes over and over and over again. That just doesn't work.

Thankfully, the series itself seems to be more open than just keeping to the whole politics aspect of things(though that's definitely still in there). Its watchable, so I'm willing to give it a chance to keep getting better.

So far, IMO, it's been crap on toast. The pilot was barely watchable, the 1st episode recently was just as bad, and sunday's episode was not inspiring. I just wish that both shows (Family Guy and American Dad) could drop the political jokes, as they date the shows, and have all been done. Family Guy is at it's best when it's just being silly - leave political commentary to cartoons that do it better.
