I *almost* bought an Avalanche Press book

And, just as a followup, while I'm on a roll -

If you add wings to a centerfold in Playboy does it suddenly become art, and not pornography?

*no, I don't say anything... it's allways the same... I'm not even say that everytime when this topic comes up I'm happy that I live in "old" europe.*

PS: Since when became Playboy Pornography? If Playboy is Pornography for you, what is then real Pornography eh?

PSS: Everytime I hear/read "Pornography" the first thing in my mind is the Cure album.. *yeah, good'ol times

It is all a mater of perspective. some folks view our game as demonistic. If you don't like it don't buy it. Sex sells. It may not to you but I'd bet that 50% of the board or more would be attracted by such a cover. And that is the bottom line.

Plus we don't listen to folks from "old" Europe here. (great one)

Give me a break. The average member of this board is 30 years old, married and college educated. I'd like to give the people here more credit than impulse purchased of d20 books with covers of half-naked women. We did that kind of stuff when we were 12. We know better now.

Avalanche - sorry. Check your D20 demographics. We're not all 12 years old anymore, and your cover has had the exact OPPOSITE effect that you intended for it to have on me.
No, but 18-year-olds usually have something like this in their dorm room or apartment away from home, which stack nicely against the Heavy Metal magazines and video. :p

At least that's what I think their demographic targets are. I don't recall their demographic including thirtysomething, married with 2.5 children, and a dog.

I'd be interested in a new demographis survey. I wouldn't be surprised if they're marketing to an older audience than they think. They may have been 18-21 when they took the last one but that was, what 4 years ago or so?

Also, if i remember right, the survey was taken before the resurgence of gaming via 3E. I imagine a lot of old gamers came back into the fold that weren't accounted for on the previous survey. (I personally know several)

like i said, im intrested on new info.. :) cource, probably wont get any....
