As the threads you describe can often go on at length, I wish for your hypothetical software to do a quick analysis when the "Submit Reply" button is clicked, cancelling the post if another post already said the same thing.

Especially if it's something the poster themselves already said.

Or automatically cancels the post if one begins with "I haven't read the first X pages of this thread, but..."

I make it a policy not to quote people on my ignore list (which is pretty easy)

I make it a policy not to put people who annoy me on my ignore list unless they have nothing useful to contribute. My list is pretty short. In fact, I recently removed someone from it to see what he has been posting and I was pleasantly surprised to see that he has mellowed out and his posts are actually worthwhile. It's actually really nice to see how you can watch people change over time as they post on message boards, myself included!

Of course, I bet Dice4Hire can't see this post...

Why not. Actually I cannot recall you saying anything ignore worthy. Most people on there are very overly opinionated, and what I see quoted from the ignored posts keeps them on there.
