I died. Part 3..... :(

Anyone know how to play a satyr?

You're the one who was playing the drow boy on a ship of chaotic evil pirates, correct? Hopefully your end wasn't too graphic.

I don't know about the satyr assassin. The DC of their Death Attacks may be too low at the Satyr's ECL.

Yes, and my end was at the point of a blade from some stupid soldier.

And besides, the DC of the Death Attack isn't that important right now. Add to some of what frandthedm said, I can charm and sleep with all the women while my par.... friends take care of the business. :] After all, we are just simple traders.

See if your DM will let you use Level Adjust buyoff from UA.

Otherwise you're just a soft squishy meat-bag without many hit points, and you'll die again, I'm afraid.

For bonus RP points, don't play a Satyr. Play an awakened monkey with a twisted foot that uses an illusions to make itself appear to be a Satyr.

i disagree with that :) once in a one shot campaign i was in with a few younger kids, we started at 4th level, and one of them was a 4th level satyr ninja with 110 hit ponts and 2, yes 2, 2d10 katanas, so we rolled him and took his swords.

FYI, a 4th level Satyr ninja is ECL 13 character. A level 13 cleric with 16 con and average hit points should have 100 HP or so. And I'm pretty sure a level 13 cleric could take a 4th level satyr ninja if it came down to it.

Just because one character had badass stats/equipment/took the feat "BBEG" doesn't mean that replicating it is necessarily a good idea... After all, I saw a neat bard once, too, but it doesn't mean that bards in general aren't pretty gimped ;) .

Given that the poster has apparently died three times in rapid succession, I think that the big weakness of being many hit points and saves short compared to the rest of his party is a significant liability, and level-adjust buyoff is the best way to address that.

Actually, the LA for a Satyr is +2, so that's an ECL 11 character.

And now I want to play a Satyr in a game. :)

Funny, I went the complete opposite way with that. I'd much prefer an 11th level cleric to a 4th level ninja satyr. Harm FTW!

Well, I'd admit I wouldn't want to play a NINJA satyr. But an 11th level Bard Satyr sounds pretty cool. 9 hit dice, high bard-like skills throughout, decent stats, and some Damage Reduction to make up for the missing hit dice. I'd want to take Practiced Spellcaster to shore up the magical end of things, but my Perform check is going to rock. :)
