I F'in HATE AMAZON!!!!

I've had problems from Amazon too, and I have an Amazon warehouse an hour and a half from home! Usually I've had to email them and complain about how long it was taking to ship something out and they would send it right out immediately for free.

They really should do a little better at shipping items that they claim go out in 24 hours. I understand inventory and all that, but if it is such a common issue, maybe they should change how they list the availability of items?

setting expectations for Amazon.com

I've discovered that free shipping and 30% off does wonders for my patience. If you're in a hurry, Amazon.com is a bad bet. On the other hand, gaming items are luxury items. You won't die without them, so there's no sense is getting worked up about when they arrive. In fact, I intentionally delay my orders just in case my "need" for the game dies down. (And in the case of certain games like "Nobilis", it's amazing --- a few months later, I'm excited by M&M instead, and have crossed "Nobilis" off my "must get" list)

I've always been happy with amazon. They allow me to find books I never would have found 10 years ago. They often have good discouts. And I like how they provide links to used booksellers. A lot of small used bookshops get a lot of business from this.

So I support Amazon 100% and am a loyal customer.

What I don't get is why he comes and whines here, instead of writing to amazon customer service. (orders@amazon.com).

Because he wants to vent his frustration and comiserate with others who have been similarly burned.

Everybody whines sometimes.

Be empathetic.

EDIT--(reduced the tone of aggrivation in my post)

When I lived in Brooklyn, NY Amazon bordered on perfect. i never asked for extra fast shipping and I almost always received the rpoduct the day after I ordered.(so shipped in a couple hours, shipping a few more hours) I must of lived next door to a shipping hub or something.

Since moving back to the bay area, CA the one item i ordered off them took more time than i was used to, but not enough time to get my underoos in a knot over.

It does suck though that you paid for next day delievery and that's when they screw up and forget to put it in the fed ex box for a week.

I'm giving Amazon.ca a try

mainly because I can't find anybody else to order stuff from that's based in Canada. Shipping and currency conversion wind up making ordering from anybody across the border unreasonably expensive. I've found a place called cyberdungeon in Quebec, but their selection is out of date (about 6 or 7 weeks) and they don't actually have the stuff that I ordered on hand so I don't know that I care to do more business with them either.

Everybody whines sometimes--yes, even you and Alsih2o. It's human nature. Can the snotty, superior attitude and stop trolling.

if you will notice (and please do) my first 2 posts in this thread were trying to be helpful...only after he ignored everyones helpful suggestions and continued to lay on the questionable language did i point out what a snot he was being....and why quote someone else and complain at me?

As others have mentioned, just go here:

http://www.enworld.rpgshop.com/

Or use the handy "shop" button at the top of this page. Most items are 10% off, some more. Best of all, for your problem with Amazon, shipping is a flat $5.95, no matter how large your order. And they ship quickly. So the discount may not be the best you can find, but the shipping usually makes up for it, and you are supporting EN World.

I ordered from RPGShop a few times, but stopped because it usually took them 4+ days to ship it out, let alone for it to reach me.

I use Stiggybaby's, they get stuff in quickly and ship it quickly and I've had great luck with them. They recently added Green Ronin, and that and FFG are the two major ones for me, so I'm good. (Plus Shadowrun.)

For the person above about Buy.com, AFAIK, they sent out the copies of ELH that were ordered and not canceled. I got mine, though it took a bit longer.

They're too hit or miss for availability there though. Great prices usually, but I can't wait months to get something usually.
