I have a 22 Constitution.

Oh, and Zarrock: The Scandinavians that don't commit suicide are actually very healthy, and live very long ;). I believe all Scandinavian countries are in the top 10 of most Healthy countries (Netherlands is #1) as tested by the UN.

Heh - I should know - I'm Danish ;). It's just that Denmark has one of the lowest average life expectancies for men in the world (think it's 73).

When I remember my teens and how unrestrained we treated a lot of things, I can understand that :p. I heard that drinking (regular heavy drinking for a long duration - but NOT alcoholism - I'm not actually sure where we draw that line in this country though, it seems rather fuzzy at times), takes 7 years off your average life expectancy. Since TheSpark's death test (you should try it - morbid fun) put my age of death at 63 that's about right. At least I won't have to worry about my pension

I recently had a very long, crazy party, where I ended up drinking a lot. Something like 13 shots worth of 90-proof alcohol over the course of the night (about 6 hours). I know that toward the end of the evening, when I was being drunk and particularly stupid, one of my friends convinced me to drink a little bit faster than I had been before, with the result that I had six shots of vodka in a half hour period.

According to the drinking rules I myself helped write for Tournaments, Fairs, & Taverns, each shot of vodka contained 12 alcohol units. You can drink up to your Constitution x5 before you're so drunk you can't talk. I could still talk and walk rather well, so I must've drunk less than that.

By the rules in TFT, before the 6-shot binge, that's still 84 AU, minus 48 AU from being able to metabolize a little bit each hour, for a total of 36 AU. Then add in the extra 72 AU from drinking the six shots quickly, and you get 108 AU.

Divide by 5, and in order for me to do what I did, I would have to have a 22 Constitution. Or possibly an 18 Constitution and the Endurance feat. Since I know I'm human, and the only way to go above 18 Con is with leveling up, I have to be at least 16th level. Go me.

Hmmm...sounds like some rules updates and testing are called for the the post-GenCon ENworld gala. Can I beta-test there with ya? ;)

"I Drunk!"

Perhaps there is a drinking skill slot, maybe called 'Alcohol'. Apparently you kept making your skill checks or else you would have tossed up your stomach.

Hmmn the only time I ever got Drunk, and not just had a light buzz is when I had 6 long islands and then pounded 2 911's(2 hour period, 40 shots for the math inclined) at the 1st bar, then I went to the 2nd bar and amuzed myself laughing at the people doing kareoke, whilel I drank a lot more.(beer only though) I yearn for the days when I lived withing walking distance of a bar, oh and that bar right next door to my laundramat was choice. I still haven't had a hangover yet, or gotton sick from booze yet, though since I'm way out of my drinking prime I might get one or get sick now if I drank like I used to.

Not a so good beer IMO (even if French:D )

Do the french make a good beer?

Not an insult just a question, when I was there about 5 years back I tried about 4 diferent french beers and I felt they were all sub par. If they have a good one I wouldn't mind giving it a shot though, since I'm always on the look out for a good beer.

IMO america has few beers that are good, some of the smaller time ones who aren't trying to get too creative with ingrediants make decent to good beer, but overall the american beer experence sucks. I'm partial to anchor steam, and sam adams on the big side, flat tire is a good beer though hard to find, and on the local only side Sudwerks in the sacramento/davis area of Ca makes some really good beers.(also a good german resturaunt, and I love german food)

German and belgium beers are the way to go IMO, though you have to worry about the shelf life a bit more since they aint close.

There are two fundamental flaws in your argument.

A) Based on your preference for German and Belgian beers, you probably favor lagers or pilseners over ales. Most merkin micro breweries go for ales, ESBs and such since they can be easier to make.

B) You haven't tried some of the good micros from the East. Pennsylvania has several good micros. Stoudts, Penn Pilsener, and others ar all quite good.

However, it is merely a matter of taste after all.

Humor is subjective. I don't find any of this funny. If you do, great.

Good, then leave us alone. Do you have some deep seated desire to rain upon parades? After reading the initial part of the post you should have been capable of understanding that it was something that you don't sympathize with. Fine, but we don't need to be lectured. I see plenty of posts here which I disagree with, but I have the ability to bit my figurative tounge and not respond. It is a skill you ought to cultivate.

I posted because while people might consider the situations above humorous, they should also consider that they are lucky.

For every funny story about over doing the alcohol thing, there is a story where the outcome was not so funny.

Would any of the stories above still be funny if you added this single sentence to the end of the story?

"Then he go into his vehicle and had an accident on the way home ..."

And one could well make a case about how D&D has screwed up some people.

How would every D&D post sound if it ended with "He was so upset that his character died, that he went home and killed himself. "?

I don't see how A is a flaw in my argument, since many american brew companies sell a variety including pilseners and lagers, and they IMexperince have been worse than their german and belgium counterparts.(my favorite stlye is a hefeveisen and again outside of my favortie aforementioned sudwerks: brewery/german resturaunt I haven't found a good american hefeveisen), and out of the ales I haven't found many good american ales.

but I'll accept that B, is true. Micro brews don't show up nation wide, so there may be some great micro brews in various localities. Though having lived on the east coast(Brookyn, NY) for years I can say they have plenty of crap as well. And still overall I've seen lots of crap.
