I have Dungeon Delve

How does the competitive scoring work?

Unless I missed something, there is no competitive scoring in it. They do spend about a page talking about how you can run the delves with a more board-gamey approach. As in: Forget about roleplaying and background, it's now you (DM) against them (players). Don't cheat, but do your best to kill them, using what is made available by the delve in question.

The suggestion is that while it doesn't give you the full D&D roleplaying experience, it can great to try once in a while, or for new DM's to learn the rules part of the game.

Interesting... I guess I was hoping for too much when I read the following from here

Within Dungeon Delve, you'll find 29 other delves to explore, and they feature all manner of challenges, demons, devils, giants, and dragons; plus, you can allow your PCs to earn new treasure items. Instructions are included for expanding the delves, if desired, and you can take advantage of a scoring system to determine how well your players did on each delve! As a further sample, here are some of the delve intros the book contains -- and we make sure to give you one from each of the three tiers.

and here:

Play the Delve Competitively
You can play a delve like a contest between players and DM. In this case the players and DM pit wits against one another using the encounter locations as the arena and the monsters and PCs as playing pieces. Dungeon Delve talks about this idea in a lot more detail.

A hard question perhaps, but I will ask:

How do the encounters and mini dungeons compare to say chunks of the H-adventures. In terms of general fun & goodness.

I was also hoping to see a scoring system but oh, well.... :erm:
Actually, I kind of hope nothing like this exists. I really, really like the fact that D&D is a co-op game; there are a major dearth of co-op games on the market today, and even starting down this path when so many alternative competitive games already exist is something that I dislike. I'm not a big fan of DM vs. PC nor PC vs. PC.

Plus, if you think about it... Power cards + competitive play = seriously, everyone's fears about WotC turning D&D into MtG would be coming true... (I already use the term "tap" to talk about using my encounter powers and it seems to fit rather well...)

There are actually legitimate fears of that?

Anyhow, I have a question, if you would be so kind as to take a look for me:

How many of the delves use multiples sets of tiles, either different sets or multiples of the same set?

Thank you!
