D&D 5E I love 5E

I have no reason to post this thread other than a euphoric feeling of pure D&D-ness. I absolutely adore 5E. I love the overall design, I love the release schedule (4-5 books a year, maybe one story-focused splatbook every 6 months), I love the classic D&D flavor, the simplicity and the speed of play while still retaining a strong element of customization. I think the new feats are great and I really like that they are optional. There are only a few things I strongly dislike (for example that monster statblocks no longer are self-contained due to spell-like abilities), but overall I'm really pumped. I'm brewing a campaign world, looking at miniatures and spending time thinking about story- and plothooks.

Thank you Wizards of the Coast for making such a great edition of D&D! I can't wait to see the Dungeon Master's Guide :D

I do really like the two products I have. We are having great fun playing it, so far.

I am waiting for the DMG to confirm my love.

5e is a blast. AND...I foresee it just getting better. I've already been layering on some new rules and it is SO easy, unlike 4e.

I love it, too.

My favorite aspect is the flexibility. I'm already running a campaign in a very nontraditional setting, yet I don't feel like I'm having to battle with (or rewrite) restrictive rules every step of the way. Things were much harder when I tried to "play outside the box" in 4e.

The best part is that the DMG is going to very specifically support some of the nonstandard ideas I've already introduced into the campaign. So happy!

My favorite thing about 5e is that after a year (ish) of running it, I've stopped even thinking about the system. I'm just running a D&D game, and the rules are just tools I can use if I need help.

I turned my back on WoTC and D&D forever.

Or so, for many years I thought.

There are some who nit-pick and complain, still... To them I say have fun with whatever game system you're playing.

I'm playing Dungeons & Dragons 5th.

Can I share in the enthusiasm? IMO it is the best edition from a guy who's mostly played 1st Ed.

Thank you WotC
