I think you may want to check out what happened to John Seigenthaler. Some jerk wrote in Wikipedia that Seigenthaler was responsible for John Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy's death plus he defected to the USSR. This despite the fact he was close friends to the two (he worked on RFK staff when Bobby was Attorney General). The guy was found out and later apologized but it really does call in to question Wikipedia without some form of self-control.
