I love to role play

This would be a good point for somebody more witty and less tired than I to change the words to the Randy Newman song 'I Love LA" to "I Love to Role Play".

Well, it's not that song but it works:

"I love creating the campaign
rules that need explained
Gaming with my friends
And dice
I love writing till 4 am
Games that never end
Rolling a natural 20
And..and dice
And I love you too
Here's to Role Playing!"

I love this hobby. I spend many hours each week planning and plotting a campaign for my friends and I love it. I sit down and read through books of rules and plots and places and I love it. I get to share my opinions of books in the form of reviews here and I love it. I get to post excessively and get ridiculed about it, but you know what? I love it. My role playing book collection is worth more then my truck, but I love it. I'm going to be starting a Story Hour and devote more time to this hobby, and I love it. I get to express my creativity and abuse the rules, and I love it. I get to argue pointless rule goofs and contridictions with people from all around the world and I love it. I get to travel to conventions to game with people I don't knbow and I love it. At the same places I get to act all fanboy when meeting Monte Cook, Mike Mearls, Hellhound, and even Morrus; and I love it.

Sometimes, life does not go the way we want it. I'm having one hell of a bad week. But you know what? I love role playing and I have a passion and perhaps even talent for it. So, I'm standing on the top of the biggest Forum here and yelling at the top of my lungs: I love roleplaying!!!!! Do you hear me EN World, I absolutely love it!!!! :D :D :D

Skål! :)

What no twins?? :D

Crothian, sorry the week had been bad... I never would have guessed by your post though. Keep up the good work as I love reading the reviews. :)

Yeah, sorry your having a bad week. I'm having a bad couple of weeks only because I have been to busy to really be on ENWorld. I think this is the first time in two weeks I've posted anything. Oh yeah...

I LOVE ROLE PLAYING!!!!!

Right there with ya, bruddah. :)

Last night a couple of my group and I tried something a little different - we had an RPG session using an AOL Instant Messaging chat room. The goal was to handle some minor plot stuff that was not resolved last game, but for which we didn't want to make the group wait sitting around while we got it out of the way.

We enjoyed it thoroughly, and plan to finish it tonight (as I am a lousy judge of time length on such a session.)

It worked beautifully when one of them got a sending in mid conversation - I IM'ed each separate party with what was going on from there persepective - and the recipient REALLY was the only one who heard it! He had to tell the other player, and the NPC's, what had happened to him. IM/Chat works awesomely for private chats, taking people aside, etc. but does require a LOT more prep work than a regular session.

But it was quite worth it, to see the strategizing, the plans formulating, etc. Just one more example of how (A) I love gaming, and (B) how we are able to squeeze just one more ounce of gaming from the "hectic life" toothpaste tube. :D

Look at me, Ma! Top of the world!

Crothian, mate, I'm right up there hollering alongside you. :D

I'm going to miss this over the next 6 weeks. :( But I'm doing A Christmas Carol in York, England, and getting paid for it, so it's not to bad.

An acquaintance of mine does a regular game in IRC, heavily using scripts. You only get to read the stuff you really witness in-game, and from what I hear he has bots to "put words in your mouth", so it appears to me that you have said something, but in truth the DM was it.

I love watching my players squirm every other week when I present them with a new, twisted horrific situation to have to deal with.

3 games into the campaign, and we had our first death, but he was resurrected (the party is 9th).

They're trying to play the meta-game, but I won't let them!!

(see my story hour for details)
