I met some trolls... (on a messageboard)

Three sides to every story notwithstanding, there is an element to all fan communities that find something easier to bash than to understand it. Because it doesn't fit the person's worldview (why a thng works badly for them and not for someone else) then it must be

a. wrong
b. stupid
c. childish
d. inane
e. all of the above

My goal (which I don't always meet) is this: If I can't understand someone's point of view, I'll tell them so, and wish more power to them, to boot. I was bringing the exact point up in a Nothingland post -- that it's easier to label and bash, than to try to comprehend.

There are trolls on the internet?? Say it ain't so!!

Seriously, I think C&C fanboys are particularly vehement in their opinions. I don't know why that is.

It ain't so!! You're very welcome.

Maybe C&C is one letter earlier than D&D so they have this whole alpha-superiority thingee going for them?

;)

Hmm...

Maybe I should open a B&B. Then all the D&D and C&C players can come for some R&R. :)

Got one down the street from me. They serve excellent Southern Cooking, and with Ham and Turkey and Dressing on the weekends! :)
