D&D 5E I need good ideas

Okay, I've another way to kill the paladin.

You need to work out a way that your assassin is on watch while the paladin sleeps. While he's sleeping you should be able to easily garrote him. Then to divert suspicion, plant some evidence pinning it on someone else, say a demon cult, and then stab yourself with a poisoned dart before anyone else wakes up.

The poison, obviously, should cause a long lasting sleep, so that you are found unconscious.

Bonus points towards diverting suspicion if the poison causes injury, too. More points if you take this watch with someone, knock them out with a sleeping poisoned dart first, do the murderband then poison yourself with a dose measured to wake you up at the same time as your watchmate (so that if your party doesn't wake you both up, it will look like you were both poisoned at the same time)

i really like that last idea, it sounds very creative and fun to me. also i just wanna say to the person who thinks i'm meta gaming, its not meta gaming, the way my character was brought in to the story, i was hired by the inn keeper to lead this group of adventurers to a girls dead body and i will get payed extra if i can kill this character, my character has nothing against him she is doing the job she is being hired for, which leads me to believe that you haven't read all the comments especially not the ones that say my character is an assassin for hire, that is her job, that's what she does and she works directly for a king from a different dimension, but she will still accept job offers from other people, and i do not play her as though she anything against him, she loves everyone equally the same, and she also has multi-personality disorder. and to finish this all off i do believe i said that unless you have good ideas then i don't want it on my post. I thank everyone who has provided me with ideas and i will continue to happily welcome more.

Every instance of "metagaming" (as you define it) can be justified or explained away in the narrative. Before or after the fact. Do you not believe this to be true?

Got another question for you:

Let's say you go ahead and assassinate the paladin as planned. You accomplish your job. Then what? Are you going to continue hanging out with that paladin's buddies? Go on further adventures with them? If so, why?

I look forward to your answer.

My sympathies are increasingly with the paladin.

... the way my character was brought in to the story, i was hired by the inn keeper to lead this group of adventurers to a girls dead body and i will get payed extra if i can kill this character, my character has nothing against him she is doing the job she is being hired for ...
The classic "It's what my character would do!" defence of a disruptive player who has chosen to play an antisocial character.

Frankly, I'm not surprised that the paladin killed his first character. I think I might have done, too.

Funny story, all the characters hate each other, they just work together to achieve a common goal, on top of that my character wasnt anti social, he was chaotic neutral and was the most social out of everyone in the group. on top of that, i wasnt the one who came up with the idea to kill him in the first place, im just ging along with it because my character is getting pay handsomely for this job and any way you slice it im still gonna kill him. i do not care what y'all have to say unless you are suggesting ideas and you are not gonna change my mind.~inappropriate language removed~

Problem is, the TITLE of this thread is, "I need good ideas." Not, "I need ideas to further disrupt my already dysfunctional game." So its hard for most of us to move forward "helping" you. The fact that most of us are telling you its a bad idea, that you should try to move away from the direction you are charging towards, should be a huge indicator that maybe you should put a little deeper thought into what this will do as the game progresses. And it's generally because we've been there and have learned from those mistakes. At least that's where *I'm* coming from. Been there. Done that. Have the "My group blew up and we aren't friends anymore" t-shirt for my troubles.
