Here are your requirements if you wish to help me:

Ability Score Generation: 42 Point Buy
ECL: 30
Divine Rank: 5
Allignment: Either Lawful Good, or Neutral Good
Races: Human, High Elf, Red Elf, Dark Elf, Nezumi, Lizardfolk, Orc (full blooded only).
Possible Character Classes: Cleric, Paladin, Fighter, Ranger, Divine Agent, Soldier of Light, etc.

Character Background: Without going over any specific events this character has been through: He is a completely solo-act kind of guy. More loner than hero, he actually is only known for a handful of his adventures, and normally only known for minor parts. He doesn't use mounts, allies, cohorts, or any other association, and is fond of bastard swords. He is a road traveler, and walks everywhere. Never teleporting, riding, or even running. If he has to cross the Ocean, he might swim, but how often do you have to cross the ocean on a world with only one major conteninent and only two major islands off the coast? He has been known to hunt down the Big Kills... like evil demigods and demonic creations. He might seem rather munchkin to people OOC, but he doesn't abuse his strength or power IC. If there is anything specific to know, just ask.

I have question: Does this character have anything to do with the Rokugan IR? ;)

Secondly, if I were to create such a character, I would do the following:

One, no casting classes. His aversion to use magical transportation or anything other than walking does not seem very likely for a caster. I'd also say he wouldn't be a Barbarian or Monk, considering he won't even run.

I'd make him a Human Ranger 20/Fighter 10, with favored enemies being Demons or Devils, and use the Fighter levels to give him several feats focusing on the Bastard Sword. He seems too much of a loner for any other classes, really. I'd need much more detail to give you more advice, as the only thing I really have for him is he A) Likes Bastard Swords, B) Doesn't like evil Outsiders, and C) Has some aversion to traveling very fast.

Well basically, I have about thirty six and a half pages of crap about this NPC this one character included in his background. The Player of this character kept asking when I would bring him into play, and stuff like that. He tried to make this NPC sound like a damn god. He finally quit ranting last week, and now my plan is to introduce him only when the player finally thinks that I am never going to introduce this lead. Surprise him...

And the player's stuff he kept on piling on my "in-box" about this NPC makes him seem really obsessed with being overly cool-headed and methodical. That's not the way I like heroes to be, but I'll let this go just once. His lead to the PC is that the NPC was the guy that killed some whats-its-demigod that killed some adventuring party that stayed at his house or something. I think the PC expects this guy to be all "daddy" with him, and protect him from something, or give him a treat... but I think I'm going to play him just the way the Player wrote about him. Too damn cool-headed to be real, and way to methodical to be efficient.

If your PCs fought against a Lich by walking at him very slowly, and hacking him to pieces if they got close enough... you would laugh and launch some spells from the ceiling where the players can't get to you. So basically he needs to be able to withstand spell bombardment and similar affects, and have incredibly epic damage reduction, or else he already would have been killed. The damage reduction comes from being a demi-god, and some other things would as well.

Eh... the worst player in my group is always submitting "these" kind of leads into my folder. I have a folder full of player-suggestions/leads/backgrounds... and he gets upset because I don't use his leads. I want to help him out with this, so I figure I'll use the one he did the most ranting about. As you know, I run a player-centric campaign, and all the other characters get tons of adventures directly related to thier own goals, and things like that, but he has just lost his glimmer while playing because nothing seems to have any relevance to his character. Plus he's a fricken fighter with nothing special about him, and all he does is hack n' slash.

Does that help?

My current Idea is to make him a Fighter/Soldier of Light or something similar. Maybe a Fighter/Weapon Master...

But when I create fighters, I go for uniqueness, and the same applies to weapon masters. That is why I am asking for help. I need the most Min/Maxed bastard sword fighter in the universe, with the least interest in efficiency, and the most interest in being methodical.

I guess it could help if I include some notes on "what is happening" now in the campaign.

Right now, the whole group has finally run out of information on just where Darius Franz and his brother Hanz are. They are a pair of very... "odd" brothers, who the PCs have been hunting down for a long time. They talk like the Ambigously Gay Duo from Saturday Night Live fame, tend to run like hell any time the PCs are around, and are completely narcisistic. The reason why they are being huntes: They were a minor running gag that one player finally had enough of and tried to murder them. They barely got away, and the players have been hunting them down ever since. The players paid a 2,000 gp fine for attempted murder in the city where they first made the attempt, and have been after them ever since. The Players want their money, and they want to put an end to Hanz Franz, and Darius Franz.

Most of the more... "serious" players have been trying to manage a rather dangerous slave trade going on in the region. They go around killing slavers, and they free slaves. It's not illegal to trade slaves, but I think the players just wanted something to kill and started this war on thier own. The region they are in right now is the region where slavers come to collect people to make them into slaves, not the region where slaves are dumped onto. That is why they have been able to get away with it. Most of the NPC population is Nezumi or Lizardfolk.

Also, the group is trying to take advantage of thier brute strength, and are trying to make a business out of bounty hunting people who trade illegal substances from the region they are in, to the empire. After the PCs catch a troup of drug dealers, they often use the drugs on themselves, or sell them in town.

Maybe it should be noted, that in previous sessions they spent a lot of time trying to make a fortune in every town they pass through. They drain about 25% of a towns wealth before moving on to another town. They also killed a rather heavily-fortified kobold den, and enslaved about 50% of the kobolds, all thier eggs, and all thier children -then sold it all to market.

Heh. Some interesting contradictions there. If you want this character to be _really_ powerful, I suggest making him a pure Fighter, as he will get access to the godly Epic Feats at a more rapid feat once he hits 20th. Here's what I would do for a purely min-maxed Human Fighter level 30, who wields a Bastard Sword, and has no interest in speed:

Human Fighter Level 30, 28 Total Feats, 12 Normal, 16 Fighter, with 9 of those being Epic Feats. Name: Mister Methodical. I can't recall whether or not you have a limit on Epic Feats. I'll just ignore it as I don't care to look it up right now:

Base Ability Scores:

18 Base Strength. Mister Methodical needs to be able to chop down his opponents in a few blows once he gets close.

18 Base Constitution. Mister Methodical needs to be able to survive being so slow to get close enough.

8 Base Intelligence, Wisdom, and Dexterity. Mister Methodical is not very smart, wise or fast. Mister Methodical never figured out his way of life and style of fighting isn't very effective.

16 Base Charisma. Mister Methodical looks damn purty, though.

Statistic Increases: 7 total. 7 in Constitution. Mister Methodical really needs to be able to survive all the hits he's going to take going so slow.

+5 Tome to put in Constitution, and a +6-10 Item.
+4 Tome of Strength, and a +6-8 Item for Strength as well.

Armor and Weapon:

+Whatever Full Plate with any number of the following enchantments: Heavy Fortification, Reflection/Great Reflection, Arrow Deflection/Infinite Arrow Deflection, Acid Resistance/Warding, etc.

Mister Methodical must have something to prevent those pesky ranged guys from ever so easily destroying him, since he is too stupid to move fast to get up to them. ;)

+Whatever Bastard Sword with any number of the following enchantments: Lawful/Lawful Power (Lawful is slow, I figure) Bane/Dread (Some fast or smart creature), Everdancing, (for those times he just can't muster the willpower to move forward that horrible 20 ft distance and swing himself).

For other items I'd suggest mostly defensive enchantments, like Iron Skin, Resistance, etc. Mister Methodical just doesn't see the point in fast, offensively minded enchantments that increase how fast he can kill his enemies. He prefers to take his time. ;)

Feats, Normal (from various sources):

Weapon Focus: Bastard Sword, Weapon Specialization: Bastard Sword, Improved Critical: Bastard Sword, Knock Down, Power Attack, Sunder, Bullheaded, Great Fortitude, Iron Will, The Various Toughness Feats 10 Times. (Toughness, Dwarven Toughness, Giants Toughness, Dragons Toughness.)

Feats, Epic:

Your choice of: Armor Skin, Fast Healing, Epic Fortitude, Epic Toughness, Epic Weapon Focus, Epic Weapon Specialization Overwhelming Critical, Devestating Critical.

That's just off the top of my head of course. I basically see this guy as having amazingly high hitpoints and defense against both spells and physical attacks. With his philosophy, he couldn't have survived otherwise

PS

Of course, if I were you, I'd just drop the campaign and the players. Bleah. Good luck, you need it.

Hm. I was wondering if the Forsaker class would fit - but then there would be the question which divine abilities he would consider magical, and thus not be usable.
The Ghostwalker class might be interesting, but has abilities similar to teleporting (Shadow Walk).

Otherwise, AvarielAvenger's suggestions propably are the best advice on the class and feats side.

For Salient Divine Abilities, I would say Indominable Strength, Divine Weapon Focus/Specialization, Divine Battle Mastery(maybe), Improved Damage Reduction, Improved Spell Resistance.

He seems more like a lawful good than a neutral good character, and I would even go as far and put him as a lawful neutral - just because you fight evil doesn't make you good.

As for domains, he would propably have Good/Law, Strength and War.

Does that help? :)

This guy he's describing is essentially Hercules. The half-celestial (or half-fiend) template seems a good place to start for creating demigods. They get a good set of ability scores and excellent immunities for only +4 ECL. So I'd be thinking a Barbarian 26 with this template.

Don't spend a single point on a mental score... you can give him decent Charisma via item if necessary. That leaves 18 Str, 16 Dex, 18 Con. His 7 bonus ability points... say +7 Str.

As for feats, this would strongly depend on the class levels chosen. For Barbarian 26, this would be 8 non-epic feats and 3 epic feats. I would go something like (all weapon-specific feats is for some large weapon that takes full advantage of his awesome Strength, like greatsword):

Non-epic: Cleave, Destructive Rage, Great Cleave, Improved Critical, Improved Initiative, Power Attack, Sunder, Weapon Focus

Epic: Destructive Critical, Overwhelming Critical, Ruinous Rage.

An excellent item-breaker, so Forsaker levels may not be out of line.
