Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the rubes who reject the gay lifestyle from the small town of his birth are the inbred fish-spawn? That the longer he sticks around town the more he finds himself adopting the inbred monsters' beliefs? Have you even read the story?

It takes a special kind of ignorant outrage to see alienation imposed by cultists compared to alienation imposed by societal norms and draw the conclusion that gays are being called mutants. Then he turns around and flames the voice of reason. This guy's blog is not worthy of being read, much less discussed.

And I thought Hollywood couldn't a) get any dumber...and b) destroy a sacred cow much like they did with I am Legend with Will Smith...

Oi...

Wow.

The quote from the Seattle magazine compares the culture shock faced by a normal outsider coming to Innsmouth (which is full of inbred fish-monsters worshipping Dagon) to the culture shock faced by a gay person returning to a small backwoods town (which is full of ultra-conservative, closed-minded bigots).

And yet somehow, Mr. Brownlee (the blogger) read that and thought that the gays were being compared to inbred fish-monsters? When clearly it is small town America that is being compared?

Sounds to me like he is only too happy to take offense on behalf of the gay community. What an idiot.

On the other hand, the trailer nearly put me to sleep. There was nothing creepy or scary or even interesting about it. If it's indicative of what the rest of the movie is like, then I predict that Cthulhu will be unwatchable.

Why can't anyone make a decent HPL movie??
