OK - for those of you that read my "Leap of Faith" column, you know that I want to start conducting interviews with the artists who contribute work in Bastion's books. I'd like to know if you, the fans, have any specific questions you'd like for me to ask them? I need questions that are not specific to a particular artists, but rather ones that apply to any artist across the board. I'll give you a week or so to post some questions. Thanks so much! :D

NOTE: Please reply here or over on my Art Talk thread on Mortality... ;)

When you are going to create a new piece of art...where do you start? Sketch out some quick lines? Find a nice photo that is sort of on topic? Or just visiualize?

i want a list of all the fluids and gizmos, not just media, actual materials down to the brand, including the papers, inks, gauches, all of it.

i wanna know about their work environment. do they work where they feel like it when they feel like it or do they discipline themselves to time and place.

i wanna know scale. how big do they do the piece that ends up 5x7 or 8x10?

self taught or formally educated? influences outside fantasy art?

first professional piece, rate of production and favored methods of reproduction.

i could be wrong, but i think i am not the only one who would find a lot of that interesting :)

I'm not interested in technical details... I want questions:

- What do they like to draw ? Anything they specially like or hate ?

- What is harder to draw of the humanoids or more common stuff ?

I like these questions a lot. I would add:

Do you have a standard contract you use?

What is the pay structure like (half up front, etc.)?

Do you charge extra for tight deadlines?

Do you use an agent?

Without naming names, what are some of the characteristics of one of your favorite companies to work for? No pie in the sky I wish stuff, but real experience.

Without naming names what are some of the characteristics of the company you like working for the least?
