I was thinking about a 20 lvl Sorc...

Lodow MoBo

First Post
Alright this is a shalow thread but...

If a sorc started with a 16 charisma
+5 for levels
+5 inherent bonus for wish spells
and a +6 cloak of pursuation

Charisma = 32

thats a +11 DC

with heighten spell DC 30 for a given spell

Thats a trully powerful DC

You would think you would see more Sorc Kings

It's not bad I'll grant you. BUT if you want TRUE sickness for a sorcerer King, 10 sorcerer/Blessed of Mesos 10.

Believe me, the difference is startling...

And if said sorcerer king was also say a Black Pelt Ratman/Slitheren...well sickness continues. ;)

 : Buh?

Oh... Quit shillin'! :p

Kidding aside, with the added ability of Sorcerers to change out their spells as they gain levels, Sorcerers seem a bit better now... I don't know much about the Blessed of Mesos PrC, but I'm sure Nightfall here can tell you as much as you want to know about the Scarred Lands campaign setting, Slitheran race and PrC included.

Indeed I can! :)

While 3.5 managed to make sorcerers a little more fun to play, the Player's Guide to Wizards, Bards and Sorcerers with Blessed of Mesos is like comparing a 3.0 adept to a Magister in AU. ;) Or close to it.

Some of the powers of Blessed of Mesos:

Metasorcery: Allows a Blessed of Mesos to (on a successful Concentration check), use metamagic feats WITHOUT raising the spell level OR increasing the casting time of any spell they cast.

2nd, 4th and 8th level, gain bonus metamagic feats

3rd, 6th, and 9th, gains bonus KNOWN spells (at any slot) equal to his/her Charisma modifier

5th level: Unravel sorcery. Two opposed rolls between the Blessed of Mesos Spellcraft roll versus the other spell caster's Concentration roll. If other one fails, spell is considered DISPELLED!

10th: Much like Unravel, if he manages to successfully unravel a spell, he gains back one spell slot equal to the spell level that was cast.

Now you can see why I like this one...and I have let PCs use this Prestige Class.

As for Black Pelts, the reason I like them, can cast dispel magic (lesser) at will and has SR as well. Among other special abilities.

Hurm....so why wouldn't every sorcerer player want to take the Blessed of Mesos PrC, or what's the downside?

Two actually. One is you need the Bloodline of Power feat from R&R2/PG: Wizards, Bards and Sorcerers. That sort of cuts into your spells known and even with the Legacy of the Blood (the 3rd, 6th, 9th) you still have to select those spells to have as your bloodline BEFORE you can get new known spells. Also you need two metamagic feats. But the Bloodline of Power/Scion feat hurts a good bit until 8th level.

Second one is more for non-evil sorcerers. Mainly that at 7th level, you get an Arcane Devourer as your cohort. Some how I don't think a LG/NG/CG sorcerer and NE outsider aren't exactly compatible with each other...
